Lok for a mouse driver update or get a borrow a mouse from somebody. I have had a few mice problems with newer Windows versions. IBM put out a lot of bad mice, we had at work and it always would close your browser. They apparently just put out bad codes and the software interprets it as something else.

My bet is Microsoft Intellipoint version 6 issie, DH has had a lot of computers coming into the shop that they've had to revert back to version 5 drivers because of scrolling causing program crashes since that driver update. Vista makes it tricker to be able to revert back though. You can always just use the generic Windows mouse driver, you just lose the ability to program mouse buttons differently that Intellipoint offers. Or get a new mouse.

"Hasta la Vista" for SP1?
Try a different mouse. Borrow one.
Hit the MS upgrade sites and see if they have issued a new mouse driver.Last edited by Larry; 04-07-2008 at 05:02 AM.

sjg,
Interesting, the Vista SP1 upgrade for single use computers hasn't been released yet. Did you read the following information from MS. http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/w.../bb968859.aspx

Did the Service Pack 1 for Vista reinstall IntelliPoint? Sounds like you might need to contact Microsoft's technical support or just get a new mouse that won't have the problem.
