cabinet cluster

i have grouped side panels, base cabinets and upper cabinets together to form an entry way cabinet unit. now id like to run a crown molding across the top of the entire unit. the crown just runs to the exterior of the upper cabinets and not across the two side panels.(i neeed to treat the enire unit as one object -but im stuck.)
