Trees in AHD 8?
I did a search and came upon the other problem... but haven't found an answer as to why I don't have trees show up in the library. Everything before trees and everything after trees shows up in the library window.... but no trees..and that is 95% of what is planted on my lot!!
Am I missing something???

Are the trees still showing in the 2D plan layout?
Some things like to wander off into the rest of you desk and house. Keep your car keys hidden.
I can't keep skylights in a plan...LOL

Do you have Display Options in your version. If so there may be a check box labeled "Display in 3D". Select the Plant layer and see if it's checked. Pro 7 had it, but Pro 8 doesn't, so maybe AHD doesn't either.
As for not showing in the library, did you try Refresh Library?Doug S.

OK....the secret nobody picks up in the manuals...
Pulldown menu tools> display options. You should see how to turn anything your little heart desires on or off in each view. You probably have trees turned off in 3D.BH&G Pro Rev. 7.08

CDS - In Pro 8 you need to have a 3D view open, then you can edit the 3D display options.
Larry - If AHD 8 is similar in format to Pro 8, the path would be Tools>Display Settings>Display Options, then Plants.
However, I believe Gringa says she has all the other plants, just not trees.Don B.

Huh? I guess I'm missing something here. Display Options should be available in any view.Doug S.

Yeah, but it is different for 2D and 3D. Try it. Turn off furniture in 2D and then take a vector or render camera view. It still shows up 3D.
The manual says the Display Options are particular to the layer set for each view type, 2D or 3D.Last edited by don3211; 04-15-2008 at 07:01 PM.

Neat! So that explains why they no longer have the "Display in 3D" check box. Thanks for pointing that out.

OUCH. This may bring my render surfaces over the quarter million.
I guess Pro 8 isn't an option for me until I get more processing power. I can't wait 60-90 seconds everytime I render.BH&G Pro Rev. 7.08

There isn't a "tree" option to check... just plants...which do show up... I have perennials, annuals, shrubs.... but no trees!

Did you look under your sod?
Open one of the tree dbx's in layout (2D) and see what the bottom height is set to.
Sometimes moving terrain heights, opening house wall corners and various other editing things can leave things floating or buried in the ground.BH&G Pro Rev. 7.08
