Can you post a picture of the front?
Lot's of variables. A 9/12 pitch will only make a ridge a certain height, unless it is sitting on a knee wall, but you say that the roof is sitting on the 1st floor ceiling height of 108".

Now I am a little confused.

The roof line really just meets the top of the 1st floor and is 8' high in the center of the vaulted ceiling.

So the ridge is about 17 or 18 feet tall?

I think I figured out how to attach. I have attached the basic outline of the first floor. There is a 3/12 roof that comes off of the 6/12 side roof and covers the 2 front decks. (I have not even been trying to add those!) The peak of the sides of the house are about 18' high and the center section peak is about 24' high on the exterior.

Hi Donna,
Thanks for the picture. Unfortunately, you won't be able to produce this model with your software.
You can get the outside to look correct, but the wing rooms cause problems where the intersect with the Gable planes in the "center" room. It is a problem because you are telling the program that there is no "attic" and the program doesn't know how to join the roof sections.

If you are going for furniture sizing, you might want to eliminate the roof or draw the rooms separate.

Thank you for all of your help, and for confirming I am not as inept as I was beginning to think I was! Oh well, I guess I wasted $100.00! I still need to figure out the best place for the stairs to get to the loft, and want to see the outside to plan the fireplace that will be centered on the front of the house, as well as the spacing of windows and doors on the exterior.

I would do a couple of versions. One for the exterior and one for the interior. Had it not been a single story with and "attic" loft, we might have been able to do something.

The home has a center section that is vaulted, Roof pitch 9/12.
The 2 side sections are 8 feet shorter in the front of the house and the roof pitch is 6/12, no second floor.
The gables face the sides on the sides and the front on the front.
The first floor walls are 9' high.

This is the criteria that needs to be met. Your rooms on the sides don't have Gables on the side walls.
