"shy" stairs

whats the trick to getting interior stairs to pop thru floor levels and show up in render camera views or doll house views? im just getting rails coming up from lower floors?!:

Stairs from the floor below won't show up in a dollhouse or floor camera view since they are not actually on that floor. You should be able to take a normal camera view and have them display though. If you are seeing the rails themselves come up through the floor, select the stairs on the floor they are on and use the Auto Stairwell edit button.
