Time to upgrade. Chief Architect has frieze tools.

Question adding friezeboard to a gable roofline

I added friezeboard to horizontal rooflines by using a soffit and molding.

However, no rotate handles appear when I attempt to use the same procedure for a gable roofline.

How do I rotate the soffit to fit under the gable?

Soffits are not "rotatable" they are "slope-able" via their dialog boxes.

David - Have you actually tested using Sloped soffits with a molding applied? I've never been able to get them to work.

iowasusan - Comparing the trial versions of Home Designer Pro 2012 and Chief Architect Premier X4, it looks like you need to upgrade to the Premier in order to have the options to apply frieze. (Attached is a basic example, of course you probably wouldn't want your colors to look like this, just added something that would be noticable. )

It's a tab in the Build Roof dialog that just isn't there with Pro, so if this is something you need to do, an upgrade is probably in order.

Check with the company's Sales team to see if they can offer any kind of upgrade discount, even though you're using an older version of Pro.
