    framing showing at wall edge

I want to open the space below a stair to make a bedroom feel a little more roomy. I edited a wall in cross section to open the space below the stair, while keeping the wall along the upper portion of the stair.

The framing shows at the edge of the wall. How can this be finished? I'd like that to be drywall.

Did you widen the stairwell to match your modification?

Other option is to use a soffit to hide the lower section, and possibly a wedge to hide the upper section.

What about changing the material from framing to sheetrock?

Thanks Dee. I thought about a soffit for the lower section, but could not come up with an idea for the angled portion of the wall. The wedge or changing frame materials are good ideas. I am still hoping there is a fix or solution within the program, rather than a patch. I'm not holding my breath though, and will try the patches now.

Until I upgrade, all I can do is make suggestions; some may work and some may not. Everything is worth the gamble.
