    recessed gable roof

I'm about to give up trying to put a gable roof on the front of my house plan in Suite 6.0. The front has two bump-outs that have their own gable roofs, but I can't turn the default hip roof that spans the whole house front into a gable. I tried making a full exterior wall inside the bumpouts, spanning the whole front to fool the software into recognizing this as the real front of the house, but no results.
Also, in the rear gable that forms the attic wall, we want to recess the wall to provide a recessed deck under the gable from the walk-out attic. Any suggestions?

If I am understanding the question correctly this can be done. Make all the walls full gable walls including the bump outs. You should not have to make a wall the entire length of the house.

Next delete the roof and rebuild it.

For your recessed area try using a railing or an invisible wall. A deck area by default does not build a roof a porch does. Make sure you label your rooms correctly or check the roof over this room in the room specification dialog.
