am I missing something?

In my basement, I have a dividing wall between two areas that does not go all the way to the ceiling. As far as I can see, interior and exterior walls automatically go from floor to ceiling, and I can't see any obvious way of modelling one that doesn't. Given that modern house designs often include partial walls with open space above them as room dividers, this seems like a strange deficiency in the program, or am I missing something?
