Flitch Plate in Roof Rafters...
For designing a cathedral ceiling where the ceiling's pitch is matching the roof's pitch my structural engineer said that I need to build 'flitch rafters' where an angled steel flitch plate is bolted between 2 2x6's and it will eliminate the need for rafter ties.
Is there any way I can show this in my design for Pro 8.0?
Thanks.Newbie Learner of Home Designer Pro 8.0

Something like this maybe?
Seems like a lot of work. Maybe just one and send to layout as a detail?
All it is is a rafter made thinner with a steel material applied.Doug S.

Rafter or a ridge?
If it it the ridge, frame it with a wider one(4")then edit it down to 1 1/2",make three copies and then make the middle one 1"
You could do the same idea for rafters..Allen Colburn Jr.

It's an angled flitch plate like the one used in this article:

No ridge beam needed. Although each rafter needs to be sandwiched.Newbie Learner of Home Designer Pro 8.0

I understand now..
Same way basically.
Just need a little experience with the framing tools.
Pictures would help..Allen Colburn Jr.
