2 Color Walls

First, thanks to those of you who consistenly reply with helpful info! You're great!

But my question is, how do I make a wall two colors/textures? For instance, in a room I'd like to have one color below the chair rail and another above (or wall paper, etc). On the exterior, I would like to have some stone come halfway up the wall.

Ideas?

I would put a soffit on the wall and make the soffit only 1/6" thick. You can then stretch it to fit the wall and make it the height you want to get the visual effect you want.

I think the new Deluxe version will do this much easier.
