IMAGINiT and Envisioneer?
I thought I'd muddy the waters, a little (more). Has anyone an opinion about IMAGINiT Builder 3D and/or CadSoft Envisioneer 4? I could not find the price for IMAGINiT (silly way of capitalizing the name) without registering on the site. I suppose I'm being petty about that registration thing, but ...
Envisioneer 4 is priced at $995, which is somewhat less than half that of Chief Architect, though twice as much as HD Pro. My guess is IMAGINiT is probably quite $pricey$, which explains their reluctance to show the price on their website.
I like HD Pro. It's doubtful I would switch, but forearmed is forewarned.John Horst aka "Coogan"

Yes, 3DHA (Version 5 and up) is based on the Envisioneer engine. I used Envisioneer 2 and 3 and I am here to tell ya that CA and HD Pro are certainly better and easier to use. Envisioneer has some great features, but Chief is so much more advanced and stable that I could not imagine going back.
Hope it helps.

I found this very long thread over at Chieftalk that discussed, among other things, the prospects of Envisioneer (or ENVI, as it's being called). Maybe in 2 years ...
I checked out the CA X1 "Lite" comparison sheet. Seems about as capable as HD Pro, though it's the newer version. The big thing on my wish list is raytracing. That and the ability to make my own objects. Hmmm. Maybe I just need to save my pennies and buy CA X1 (or X2).John Horst aka "Coogan"
