Hello to all from the land of late night frustrations.
Reading all these post have helped me out alot. So thanks to all of those who contribute, maybe some day I can be of help well i got the "U" shaped stair done but now i have this "cool" floor right were you would start to walk up the stairs, it looks like a extention of the landing, in the same shape as the stairs. I can not figure out how to get rid of it. any help would be great.

HA HA HA lesson learned. it was a raised floor that i forgot to remove when i was trying to figure out how to do landings. I guess when you stay up late you forget to check the obvious stuff. well its fixed now. I have a ? that is a little off topic but you can see in the photo that the ledge of the "landing" is green. i have a simular situation that i need to change the color of the ledge but then i do so i get the error "can not apply material to platform edges-try changing material on wall above/below" well tried that will no prevail. i have HD 7.09.
Thanks

The usual answer to just about everything - put a soffit over it and make it any color you want.
