    Backsplash

Is there a way to make automatic backsplashes disappear? How do you put a cabinet over a window without having the backsplash cover the window? Also can you make the tile from your automatic backsplash go over other specified areas of you wall?

    I have Home Designer Deluxe

You can set the backsplash material to invisible so that you don't see it.

But the correct way is to delete it, and I think you can do this in all versions. Just open the cabinet dialog and go to the front tab. Select the backsplash by clicking directly on it in the preview picture. It should say "backsplash" as the item type under the face items. Then just hit the delete button on the dialog box.

Deluxe has the ability to delete the backsplash by clicking on it in the picture and deleting it.

Yeah, I tried the open object thing and clicking on the backsplash, but in mine it just highlights the entire front, and if I clicked delete, the whole entire front of the cabinet would go. So I'm going to try to set the material to invisible next, but I need more info on where to find the invisible material. So could someone please tell me exactly what category that's under? Thanks.

If you would rather do it that way . . .

    Open the cabinet for specification
    Click on the Materials Tab
    Select backsplash
    Click the Select Material button
    Browse to Materials>Misc>Opening(no material)
    OK

Thanks Kat! However, I think I figured out my problem with the backsplash not selecting, looking at your earlier screen shot. I will now try this strategy. Thanks a bunch!
