Making a Shed Roof
It's called a Shed Roof.
See the attached pictures on how to make the roof a shed.
Please go to the UserCP (User Control Panel) and click on Edit Signature under Setting & Options. In the Edit Signature window enter the Product Name and Version of the BH&G software you are using.

Rick,
I think he called it a V shaped roof because if you look at his attachment closely, the higher end of the roof is of steeper pitch than the lower end. I've not seen a roof like that and wonder why you'd want it like that?Phil

Phil,
I thought he just didn't draw a straight line. If what you say is true then some sort of a Gull Wing or in this case a "half a gull wing".
Is this what you want rvakili?

It is called a "gambrel" roof. I can be created in Deluxe and Pro, at least.
Vrakili: your software product vesrion is required to know your software's capabilities.
There is a parameter to set in the wall dbx for two slopes. Once the option is selected more boxes will become enabled.
Barns typically use this gambrel roof style except it v's outward instead of inward.
This may also be done using dormers with shed style/option selected. You would make a roof slope with upper slope and then place a dormer on the roof, the whole width (I think you can make them that wide?)
This style is usually seen where people added a new addition onto an older builder.Last edited by Larry; 12-08-2007 at 06:24 AM.

Larry,
If you look at a Gambrel Roof, it is the opposite of what he wants. Is there a Reverse Half Gambrel?
In a Gambrel, the lower portion is a "ridge" in his drawing according to Phil he wants a slight "valley".
Take another look at his picture.

Hi Ramin,
Glad the roof was what you want. Attached you will find the way I named the walls and you can see the settings I used to create the roof pitches.
You will probably need to modify it somewhat to fit your design.
