Circular Stairs w/Landing
All,
I am planning a circular staircase that goes to a 2nd floor landing (no problem). However, I would like to put/stop the stairs about 3ft or so from the top and put a landing. From the landing I would have 2 sets of 3-4 stairs that go the remainder of the way up to the second floor.
First set of stairs would go "left" into the Library.
Second set of stairs would continue as a nomal stair case up to the landing on the 2nd floor.
I have attached images to help.
Thank you in advance.

First, the question was how could I achieve this.
Second, as I am by no means an architect of anything beyond databases, I'm not sure what cantilever really means in terms of stability of the stair case..but I think this would be the preferred as it would allow me to leave the entry "open" versus walled in.
Third, as this landing is near the ceiling level (18-24 inches by best guess), I'm assuming it's possible to lower the floor in that area to support the landing.
Finally, my initial thoughts were to run the stairs going to the basement underneath the stairs going up, so I would not want a closet underneath.
Thank you in advance.Mike

Hi Mike,
Creating a landing can be accomplished by stopping the stairs short. Then drawing another section of stairs starting close to the "upper" end of the stairs. Then using the Stairs Tool, click in the area between the two stair sections.

Can you stop a circular stair "short" in Deluxe? If so...how? As I cannot seem to get the stairs to shorten once drawn.

When you place the stairs do you get the resize handles?

I get three squares all in a row along the center of the stairs and a Triangle outside the stairs.
Square one shrinks/expands the width of the stairs.
Square two shrinks/expands the widht of the stairs (Seems redundant...but that's what it does)
Square three Moves the entire staircase.
Triangle rotates the stairs.
There are no resize handles at ends of stairs to shorten. The Open Object doesn't allow this level of detail either.Mike

After you draw the stairs, if you click on them I think you should get something like this?

And if you double click on the stairs you don't get a Staircase Specification dialog box?

Mike,
If you don't have any way to shorten the stairs perhaps someone that has HD Deluxe can help you better. Sorry!
