    Hi Linda,

    Yes there is a way to do it.

    I used 8 in 12 for the house gables, but you can use something else.
    First turn off Roof Autobuild.

    Make the 2 walls of the deck that are perpendicular to the house"Full Gable Wall" by going into the Wall Specification dialog. Using the Wall Break tool click on the house wall where the perpendicular deck walls intersect the house wall. After breaking the walls, click on the Wall tool and double-click on the wall between the 2 breaks. In the Wall Specification dialog set the pitches as shown in the attached thumbnail #2.

    When you are done double-click on the Roof tool and in the Roof dialog, click on the Build Roof Planes then click OK. (thumbnail 3)
    Set the outer deck railing (the railing running parallel to the house like thumbnail #3.
    The roofline should look somewhat like thumbnail #4.
