    That side of the house is on the high side of a hill, and the entry way will be at ground level. The ground slopes downward froml that side of the house, diagnally toward the opposite corner. I have an option of having that portion of the foundation/basement under the entry porch either being a concrete slab, with dirt/fill underneath, or having it open, and part of the basement for use as a storage area. They would have to construct it accordingly if I chose the latter, using steel beams, across the top, etc.
    I'm just trying to re-create my architect's drawings in "Home Designer" so I can do some "what if's" and design visualizations.

    It's a great program, but figuring out how to do some of this stuff is taking too much time. I need to set up full gable roofs on all four sides of the plan, for example, and this looks like another major learning project.
