funny curved floors

i was just playing around and made a large house with an entry way with curved walls that two stairs went up to the 2nd floor. This entry way open bellow- the problem is when i view it on camera there is a ghost floor that follows the curve of the wall.
i dont know if im explaining it properly

an another question - how do i turn off terrain contours from automatically raising the house?

Hey aAllen,

Welcome to the forum. I'm not sure about the ghost floor problem.
If you are a Vista user, using the Snipping Tool to capture a screen shot is far easier than the old Print Screen method as described in the How To Attach Pictures to HomeTalk Posts thread.

If you are not a Vista user, screen capture software will make post .jpg thumbnails much easier.

Here are a few programs that you might want to consider if you don't have a capture software and want easier ways to capture portions of plans, renders, etc. I would recommend the following screen capture programs.

thanks daydreamer , i do have a screenshot capture program (BOshot) are the pictures i posted not clear enough? or should i take a capture from another angle?

You're welcome...
Your pictures are fine.
I'm not sure about the rest of the forum members, but it makes it easier for me if you post the thumbnails since they are visible. That way, I don't need to either open them all or try to remember what file name went with what picture if I need to reopen them.

I made a quick somewhat similar model to see if I could get similar results, but I can't reproduce the "ghost floors". (see attached)

Will you also add Suite in front of the 6.0 in your signature?

I did delete the walls on both floors and tried it over again, but the same issue happens. its on the 2nd floor - is there any way to align curved walls to the other floor?
and even when the 2nd floor says "open bellow" there is that ghost floor in its place



i think i found where the ghost floor comes from - for some reason when i join the two ends by the stairs to make it a room the problem happens. when i dont join the two ends there is no ghost floor.

Could it be because the room below the top of the stairs is a circle? last picture

aAllen, I use HD Pro. In that program I can select the curved wall by double-clicking. The dbx has a box to check to align the wall with the wall on the lower floor. It also works if there is a wall above to align with. See the attachment.

Thanks Don, i have an option for it too, just never noticed it.



and i think i fixed the problem. I had a circular family room under so on the 2nd floor i made an invisible curved wall following the wall underneath that seem to close a loop some where in the program
