Doorwar raised side panels - ceiling?
Hello, I bought Pro 8.0 a little less than a month ago and I've been doing some work for our condo. I'm also new to the forum and this family of software.
I've been browsing HomeTalk without any success for my problem. As you can see from the 2 pictures I've used a large 12" deep doorway and inlcuded two raised side panels on top of each other and on each side of the doorway. I'm trying to find a way to include similar panels on the ceiling part of the doorway (which would constitute a bulkhead or trim-out I guess) where the recessed lights are.
Any help would be great!

Hi E,
Welcome to the forum.
The only thing I can think of for a solution would be to render a view looking directly at the door jamb. Then use a screen capture program to get a picture of the jamb. Save the image as a .jpg and use any photo editing software to clean up the edges of the picture. Add the image/texture to My Materials in the Library. Next, use the soffit tool. Attach the image to the soffit, size it and place it under the top of the doorway.
Remember, the thickness of a soffit can be as little as 1/16th of an inch.
Good luck!

Hi Rick,
Tks I'll give it a shot. I guess it's better than the current soffit I have in place with a different texture on it. I'll post a pic once I'm done.
It would have been nice to see the details of the panels like the other one though...Eric

Hi,
Didn't take much time which is good. Here's the before and after pictures. Not too bad I'll work later on the color and brightness a little later.
Tks again
