Ok... what did I do wrong?

I've been working on this kitchen for about 5 months and I can't figure out what I've done wrong.

It looks fine in vector view, but, the render view looses all definition in the cabinets and generally looks horrible.

Any suggestions?

It's the lighting, everything is facing straight down so you don't get any definition on the cabinets. I let Home Designer to use its default light source, that generally works well for me.

Well, shut my foot in the door. Had no clue that there was even an option to turn the lights on or off. Cool. I haven't had this program very long and it's a new experience every day.

Thanks to you, I've spent all afternoon playing with lighting.

I've learned all sorts of things from searching "lighting". It's like someone literally turned on the lights for me. Consequently, I've had an eye-opening, wonderful afternoon.
