Stairway Specs Dialog Box Trouble
When I manually change the number of treads from 11 to 12 (in the Staircase Specifications dialog box) the 'length' of the stairs will not stay at 111-3/4". The length changes to 122-1/4".
There are 13 risers and the top step (13th tread) is actually the first floor.
The height from the basement floor to the first floor - all inclusive - is showing as 102-3/8" in the Room Specification dialog box for the basement.
The Tread Width box is greyed out and stays steady at 10-3/16". I cannot change that or the riser heights.
How do I get manual access to stairway specifications?
ThanksDekade

The attached image is from Home Designer Pro 10, I do not have easy-quick access to Pro 9 right now (I don't want to take the time to boot into XP to look at version 9 so I could be a little off).
When "Automatic Treads" is checked in the Stair Dialog, then manual adjustments are "grayed out" by default. Uncheck "Automatic Treads" and then and only then can you make manual adjustments.
If you require complete manual control, then automaticity must be disengaged, if Version 9's stair dialog has this missing then you need to upgrade if you require fine control over the stair dialog.

You are correct David. Pro 9.0 does not support the automatic feature. I have emailed CA to see if they can sell a lesser version than 2014. Can't afford 2014 at this time.

Update: I do have a feature to change the tread width! It is a little button above the greyed out box. Missed it before.Dekade
