Staircases
I have HD Architectural 2012. When I create a staircase I can easily change the railings on the 2nd floor, but not on the first floor ! Am I missing something; is there a step I'm omitting or something ? Please help if you can. Thanks, Barb.

You need to explain further what you are attempting to change on the first floor rail. What is the issue? It would help to know exactly what you are trying to achieve. i.e. when you change 2nd floor it does the same on first? or vsav. I did a test run and opened a stock plan did open item on floor one and floor two, changed color of ballusters on floor two, went back to floor one and changed the ballusters to a different color and back to 2nd floor the color hadn't changed on the 2nd floor.

I'm sorry - I wasn't very specific. I can easily change the colors; that's not my problem. Okay: I create a staircase on the 1st floor, but I don't care for the very plain-looking balusters, newels, etc. I go to the 2nd floor and I can make changes to the railing (decorative, panel, etc.), but I can't do a thing with the balusters, etc., on the first floor. I would love to make my staircases more attractive. Thanks again, Barb.

Thank you all for the help. I'm going to try the "open", copy/paste method. Thanks again.
