Cannot place imported round top window in wall

    Pro-10.
The Library of available windows w/round top isn't what I want. I imported the one I like from 3D warehouse. Saved the skp to my skp folder. Opened my plan and did a drag and drop (the only way I know how to do it) to place the window in plan. The window is now in my plan. I opened it and sized it apporpriately, however; when I try to drag it into the wall, even using the ctrl drag method it keeps jumping back out as in the pics. I tried deleting the previously installed window first of course, but it refuses to stay in the wall. I tried placing a window from those available with the soft ware, and then selecting the type from my skp file, but that option is not available.

    Thoughts/Ideas?

Try creating a "pass through", then place the skp model in the void. jon

jcaffee's recommendation to create a pass-through and place the window fixture symbol in it is probably your best option.

Home Designer imports all third party symbols as "Fixtures."

I think you need Premier X5 in order to choose other categories like furniture, millwork or doors and windows.

    Bob,

    Here is another alternative:

There is nothing wrong with Kat's and John's advice, I am just offering another way for that specific window type

Thanks again David. That is definately what I'd like to do, but I can't quite catch how you got the window above in place to start with. I'll keep playing the video.

I don't have time to try it now, but later, I think I'll use the imported window as an overlay template; build my window(s) on that them slide them in place.
That might be faster for me (if it will work).
