    Freakishly Annoying Baluster

So far when I changed the stair baluster or creating one around a specific area, I've only used cylindrical or imported ones. The other day I tried to apply "custom" balusters from the catalogues and the result stunned me in the worst possible way. As in the images.
    Any remedies please?

looks like you applied a panel as a baluster. On the Rail Style tab choose "panel" then on the Newels/Balusters tab specify the panel that you are trying to use.

    Arthur, Try this:
In the stair dbx turn off railings. Then draw a deck rail on the stair. On the rail dbx check "follow stair". Move the rail where you want it. Then if you select "panel" in the rail dbx you can change the panel type via library to cable, or other and it should show correctly.

I have had success with this in the past. Hope it works for you.

I'm afraid it doesn't work. To begin with, deck railing automatically turns my room to a deck. Secondly there's no "follow stair" to check. Maybe this only applies to HD Pro, I have HD Architect.
However, I did what you told me to and here's the outcome, in the pics
