make Transparent background?
Is there a way to make the backdrop transparent. I am trying to make floorplan graphics and need everything outside of the walls to be transparent.

Do you mean as you said "transparent" or do you mean "in the background" (behind the floor plan). Backdrops are commonly used in camera views and not in plan views, so I am not sure what you want to do yet.

Yes I meant "in the background". I use the dollhouse view to create an overhead of the floor plan and I need everything outside of it to be transparent.

Thank you for the clarification. The problem is that backdrops are programmed to fill the entire background of all camera views, so the only way you could get what I think you want as an effect is by making your own custom backdrops that natively have transparent edges. You can of course do this in Photoshop or Paint Shop Pro and experiment with how large to make the transparent part to get just the right effect, using trial and error per plan. Home Designer offers enough flexibility to do a lot of things.
