Changing diamension default
Hi, I have a floor plan that has been drawn using inches as the default measurements. Can anybody advise if it is possible to change the default plan to metric measurements (as required by my Local Planning authority). Many thanks Acepage UK

With Pro 7 at least, all you have to do is go into Default Settings and edit the Dimension Defaults to change the display. Uncheck Imperial and check Metric. With older versions, you had to start a new plan too, if I remember correctly.

Hi Root, thanks for your prompt reply.
I should have mentioned I am using Suite 6.04. The diamension default box does not appear to have the option to change from !imperial to metric" diamensions in Suite.
I have also tried "Selecting all objects", copying/cutting, starting a new drawing with METRIC as the default diamension, and then pasting. Suite doesnt appear to allow cutting and pasting of even a single item into a new drawing.
thanks again, Acepage

You're welcome. Did you try tiling the two plans, so that they are both on screen at the same time, and then cut and paste?

Even Chief doesn't allow for converting from Metric to Imperial or Imperial to Metric.
Some versions have the "show metric" feature.
Yes, and it would accomplish what he wanted. Too bad Suite 6 doesn't have it. Oddly, there is no equivalent "Show Imperial" if you start the plan in metric.Call me Root

Once a plan has been started in either metric or imperial units, there is no way that I know of to change it. You need to start a new plan in metric units.
