Cathedral Ceiling
Hello,
I have a great room extension with a 5-12 pitch that is perpendicular to the main roof line. On the second floor we have an open to below area off of a loft. We would like to make this area with a cathedral ceiling. I have tried a few ideas, such as unchecking the "ceiling over room" box, but I get an ceiling that does not look like a triangle from front to back. Can 6.0 support this or an I doing something wrong!?
Thanks

More Information
I have been reading through several of the Cathedral Ceiling Threads already posted and have been trying those ideas. I am still having the same issue; however, I think I may have identified the source. It looks as if the cathedral ceiling slopes up at the point the exterior wall turns into an interior wall or the slope of the roof and room height could be adjusted. Any ideas?
Thanks!

braido11-I re-tried the cathedral ceiling by using the ceiling plain, and except for just tweaking a little, I think I got what you were wanting. You've probably figured it out by now.
After building the roof (with all the right room dbx info checked, unchecked ceiling over etc) I used the ceiling plain box in the build roof menu, then drag the ceiling plain base line from the roof dotted line at the valley intersections to the back wall and then move cursor inside the room to the peak of the roof and clicked, then same on the other wall.
See attached photo.
Let me know how your coming with it.

I wanted to attch the plan I used to get the cath-ceiling. Notice the ceiling plain runs from the intersection of the outsid eave plan south exterior wall and upward slope toward the apex (ridge) of the two connecting roof plains. In the real world of framing, from the back wall of the loft in cathedral construction the ceiling would slop in and up to where it would intersect the plan east west gable roof lines. So there would be a partial sloping of the ceiling up the gable to the intersection of the plan north and south cathedral. But over the loft, at the least well over half of the cathedral will be running plan north and south the way you wanted.
It will be a tricky job of framing. Is the house already built? Stick built or trusses for the roof system?

Oops! You're most likely right Allen. He just said 6.0. Yep, he probably has suite. I was thinking Pro 6.0.

Ceiling Planes
Thanks for the responses. I gave up on this because I do not think Home Designer Suite 6.04 has ceiling plains, but if I can solve it in a different way that would be good to know.
