    Hmm, creating a wall with "attic" option marked dont work for me.
    The sort of roof you show in your post above is easy to do if you have Home Designer Pro, a little less easy with other Home Designer titles but the point is that when you need a wall the wall tool is your first choice, only a wall can hold windows or vents (you could use a soffit but it will not accept windows or vents).

    What Home Designer software do you own and use?

    You don't say if this wall is part of a vaulted ceiling room, or is it a loft?
