    Dormers on Roof Problem

Hi i am new to this software. I am "attempting" to draft a plan for a new build development I have planning consent for.

However every time i add a floating dormer or non floating dormer i seem to have an error with the dormer roof meeting the main roof plane. I have treid starting a basic plan with a simple house with four walls and a basic hipped roof but the problem still remains.

I have followed the basic training videos, however im still getting the problem.

Has anyone come across this? or does anyone know what im doing wrong?

here is an image of my roof with the problemClick image for larger version.

Dormers, using the dormer tool are preprogrammed to fit most situations and not always perfectly as you have seen. Without seeing your plan so I can check it settings etc, I can only guess as to the unwanted outcome.
Some of these tutorials may be of help, I do know that learning how to make dormers manually and edit them is vital knowledge you need so you do not have to remain the effect of the programming work of others:

None of the videos were done in Pro 2014 but the basic programming and behavior of dormers has not changed since they were introduced back in 2002 or so, in Home Designer Pro 6.

    Hi David,

Thank you for you help so far.

I have uploaded a basic plan showing the problem i am having *please see link below*. I have noticed that it only seems to happen on Gable Roof Dormers & Floating dormers.

    https://www.filesanywhere.com/fs/v.a...8f5c61757c6b9a

It may be a simple setting i have incorrectly used. If you have any spare time to maybe help it would be much appreciated.

    Thanks

Have you viewed the videos I suggested and tried any of the suggested fixes/procedures? A dormer is a dormer is a dormer, they are not different, they are all the same.
