cove ceiling
Does anyone know how to create a cove ceiling? Or even, a built-in architectural "shelf" high on a wall?

Yes.

I need to know what title and version of the software you are using and a little more data to respond otherwise than I have.

I have Home Designer Pro 2012. I am attaching a picture of what I am trying to do. I have two rooms side by side with different ceiling heights. The room with the taller ceiling height has a architectural "niche" in the wall over the lower room's ceiling. I created something similar elsewhere using a pass through window, but I am having trouble here due to the three different angles.

Your video was a great help. I am very new to the program so you taught me a few things I did not know. I have not applied the molding yet, but I have all of the structure visually there. Thank you!
