Open "Edit - Default Settings - Dimension Defaults - Locate Objects - change the default setting from sides of wall penetrations to "centers" or you can manually move all dimensions to wall penetration centers (changing the default is the easier way). These instructions will work in Home Designer Pro, is that what you have?

Yes, I am using Home Designer Pro at the moment, which I love using for my assignments and will upgrade to Chief Architect Premier when I complete my Masters Degree in Interior Design.
