Importing plans
Hello Everyone:
I am new to this software and am trying to build a set of plans for a project we will be working on as soon as the weather brakes, the problem I have is the engineer has produced some design drawings which have columns since the house is in a flood plain area and I would like to import them and use his design as much as possible before adding to it to produce a set of plans for the job. I admit, a lot to tackle for a HDP newby but I want to try.
I can import his drawings into HDP but the columns don't show up in camera view what can I do to use his plans without
redrawing everything.
thanks

Need to know what title/version you have exactly. Imports are 2-D and used mainly for tracing over, what have you actually done so far and using what please?

Hello David:
I am using Home Designer Pro 2014 and importing DXF files from the engineers CAD program. I imported his three drawings
C3 foundation drawings ( Columns and foundation walls), C2 Floor Plan Drawings (Steel I beams on columns) and C1 floor Plan layout for 1st and 2nd floor. If I could use them in a semi transparent layer I believe I could then draw in all walls etc , but being new to this software is like being new to anything, Frustrating until you catch on.

piers and columns are easily represented using "Shapes" from the library browser, using walls to emulate them is unnecessarily hard to do. Please take a look at dome of these Help Database articles:
